Turkmenistan to expand power supply of rural areas

Turkmenistan will mount 2166.3 kilometers of electrical power lines in Dashoguz province until 2020, local newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan reported.

Old power lines are being renewed and new lines, transforming substations, distributing network, lighting systems are being installed in cities and rural areas of the country. A new power line mounted by specialists of local Yupek Yol Gurlushyk company is being prepared for commissioning in Maslahat-depe village of Kunya Urgench disctrict in Dashoguz province.

“A total length of the power lines is 1.8 kilometers. A new 250-kilovolt-amper complex transforming substation was installed and 10-kV and 0.4-kV power lines were mounted on new concrete pillars,” the article said.

Similar work aimed to ensuring reliable power supply of rural areas was carried out in other parts of Kunya Urgench district as well. New power lines each 1.5 kilometer long were mounted and transforming substations were installed in Aymir-oba and Taza-oba villages.
