A round table dedicated to the relevant tasks of the development of Turkmenistan's energy and transport diplomacy has been recently held in Romania’s Ploiești city, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported.

The event was organized by the embassy of Turkmenistan and the Oil and Gas University of Ploiesti.

The representatives of the Romanian Ministry of Energy and Foreign Ministry, the Bucharest City Hall, the diplomatic corps, business circles attended the meeting. The participants reviewed the big infrastructure projects being implemented by Turkmenistan.

The Romanian side stressed the interest in an active dialogue with Turkmenistan to accelerate the mutually beneficial partnership.

Earlier, the two countries agreed to seek the optimal ways of the Black Sea-Caspian Sea Trade and Transport Corridor using the advantages of Constanta port and Turkmenbashi International Seaport.

The matter rests in the formation of the Eurasian Transport Corridor. In particular, the Turkmen State Service of Maritime and River Transportation has been considering the possibility of transporting goods, including liquefied gas to Constanta. The route envisages the use of special containers and stretches through the Caspian Sea to Baku (Azerbaijan), then by rail to Batumi or Poti (Georgia, Black Sea region) and from there to Romania by sea.
