SOCAR talks on profitability of projects in Turkey

A number of new projects of SOCAR Turkey Enerji Company is already running, and brings the company a profit, the Director of SOCAR Turkey Enerji Company Zaur Gahramanov told reporters May 29.

He noted that, the wind power plant on the Aliaga Peninsula is already working and is generating income.

"SOCAR Fiber will be completed together with TANAP by the end of 2018, and we will start the marketing activity. It is expected that this project will start to make a profit in 2019. The first phase of Petlim was launched, and within its framework in 2017, SOCAR's revenues were higher than expected. The second phase of Petlim was completed in September 2017 and handed over to APM Company in February 2018. It also works according to the plan and brings money," Gahramanov said.

It is expected that in 2018, SOCAR Turkey Enerji's consolidated turnover will reach $15 billion and the company will become the second largest industrial company in Turkey with 5,000 employees and $3 billion of export potential. It aims to become Turkey's largest industrial company by 2023.
