Kyrgyzstan begins exporting electricity to Uzbekistan

Kyrgyzstan started exporting electricity to Uzbekistan, the press service of Electric Stations JSC announced June 8.

According to the agreement between Electric Stations JSC and Uzbekenergo JSC, Kyrgyzstan started exporting electricity to Uzbekistan from June 8, 2018.

Reportedly, the export will last until August 2018, resulting in 500 million kilowatt hour being exported at a price of 2 cents per kilowatt hour.

The press service specified that the water volume of the Toktogul reservoir for 2018 allows the export of electricity. At the same time, the volume of export will be adjusted based on the technical capabilities of the parties.
