Turkmenistan aims at accelerated construction of gas chemical enterprises

The meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Myratgeldy Meredov was held in the central building of Oil and Gas Complex of Turkmenistan, the State Concern "Turkmengaz" said in a statement.

The discussion was held on the results of the activities of enterprises in this industry over the past five months of 2018.

The reports at the meeting also included information on the construction of a gas chemical complex in the Balkan velayat (region) and a plant in the Akhal velayat for the production of gasoline from natural gas.

In this regard, Meredov noted the special importance of accelerating the construction and commissioning of gas chemical complexes.

An enterprise with a production capacity of 386,000 tons of polyethylene and 81,000 tons of polypropylene per year is being built in the Pre-Caspian Kiyanly settlement since 2013. The project is implemented by the TOYO Engineering consortium (Japan) and LG and Hyundai companies (South Korea) for a total of $3.4 billion.

The facility is planned to be commissioned in September 2018. In Ovadan-Depe near the Turkmen capital, a plant for the production of up to 600,000 A-92 gasoline per year is being built since 2015. The project is implemented by the Kawasaki consortium (Japan) and Ronesans Company (Turkey) for a total of about $1.7 billion. The input of the enterprise in operation is planned for December 2018.
