The American company Halliburton and the Uzbek joint-stock company Uzbekneftegaz can start implementing joint projects on foreign oil and gas markets, the Uzbek company stated.
The corresponding agreement has been achieved within the framework of the meeting on Aug. 6 between Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC Alisher Sultanov and President of Eastern Hemisphere at Halliburton Joey Rainey.
President of Halliburton noted that he has been closely following changes in the economic and political spheres of Uzbekistan. He underlined the company's long-standing intention to enter the Uzbek market, and noted that it is the most appropriate time now to become part of the positive changes taking place in the country.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospective spheres of cooperation. Following the discussion, it was announced that Halliburton will open a permanent office in Uzbekistan and the parties will continue to work on defining a scheme for cooperation to increase production of liquid hydrocarbons from low-yield deposits.
At the end of the meeting, Rainey emphasized that the company is interested not only in supplying equipment, but in establishing long-term mutually beneficial cooperation with the full presence of the company in Uzbekistan. To this end, Rainey is planning to attract the best specialists of the company to cooperate with Uzbekneftegaz JSC.
Halliburton is an American transnational corporation, one of the world's largest companies providing services in the oil and gas industry. The company provides its services in over 80 countries worldwide, including hundreds of subsidiaries and affiliated companies, divisions and branches.
The company's headquarters are in Dubai and Houston, but the company is legally registered in Houston, where the president and chairman of the company's board are located, as well as the operating and financial director. Halliburton has about 70,000 employees worldwide.
