Azerbaijani operating company Salyan Oil, which is developing the Kursangi and Garabagli onshore oil fields in the country, has produced more than 105,500 tons of oil in the first eight months of the year, a source in the country’s oil and gas market told Trend on Sept. 10.

"The average daily production is about 420 tons per day, and this level is planned to be maintained throughout the year. In total, since the beginning of the year, 105,500 tons of oil have been produced," the source said.

According to the adjusted plans, Salyan Oil plans to produce about 160,000 tons of oil in 2018. Its fields are located in Azerbaijan’s Salyan District. Some experts believe that the remaining oil reserves in the contract area exceed 150 million tons.

A contract for the development of Kursangi and Garabagli was signed in 1998 for a period of 25 years.

Shareholders of Salyan Oil are the Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR and China National Oil & Gas Exploration and Development.
