Georgia’s Batumi port reveals volume of cargo transportation from Azerbaijan

The total volume of cargo transportation from Azerbaijan via Georgia’s Batumi port stood at 20,059 tons in the first eight months of 2018, Batumi Sea Port Ltd. told Trend.

As much as 16,066 tons of the abovementioned figure accounted for industrial oil, while 3,993 tons fall on bentonite transportation from the country, said a source in the port.

This is while the total volume of cargo transportation from Batumi port to Azerbaijan amounted to 258,267 tons, according to the port’s data.

“Of this volume, 134,551 tons accounted for raw sugar. Moreover, 7,847 tons of corn oil, 34,186 tons of palm oil, 26,889 tons of soya, 12,379 tons of rails, 3,322 tons of laminate, 39,094 tons of coke and 8 tons of tanks were transported from Batumi port to Azerbaijan in the first eight months of 2018,” added the source.

The total volume of cargo transportation from Azerbaijan via Georgia’s Batumi port stood at 23,585 tons in 2017.

As much as 7,044 tons of the abovementioned figure accounted for industrial oil, while 16,542 tons fall on coke transportation from the country, said a source in the port.

This is while the total volume of cargo transportation from Batumi port to Azerbaijan amounted to 267,824 tons, according to the port’s data.

“Of this volume, 177,796 tons accounted for raw sugar. Moreover, 14,386 tons of corn oil, 59,035 tons of palm oil, 8,409 tons of soya and 8,196 tons of rails were transported from Batumi port to Azerbaijan in 2017,” added the source.
