Tehran, Iran, Sept. 18
Trend:
An adviser to Iran’s oil minister said the country would continue to export oil under US sanctions via its ground borders.
Iran shares ground borders with several big countries and could continue the trade of its oil without a hitch and regardless of the US sanctions, Moayyed Hosseini Sadr said, IRIB news agency reported on September 18.
Slamming the unilateral anti-Iranian measures by Washington, he said many foreign states and companies would not comply with the US sanctions.
“The sanctions will not be effective as they are not imposed by the UN Security Council,” Hosseini Sadr said.
Sanctions are due to be re-imposed on Iran's oil industry on November 4. The move comes after US President Donald Trump decided to withdraw his country from the 2015 nuclear deal in May.
The US has said that countries or companies that conduct transactions with Iran are liable to face secondary sanctions.
