Azerbaijani operating company Salyan Oil, which is developing the Kursangi and Garabagli onshore oil fields in the country, produced 118,000 tons of oil in the first nine months of the year, a source in the country’s oil and gas market told Trend on Oct. 10.

“The average daily production is about 420 tons per day, and the average monthly production is 12,500 tons,” the source said. “In total, since the beginning of the year, 118,000 tons of oil have been produced.”

It was earlier reported that according to the adjusted plans, Salyan Oil plans to produce about 160,000 tons of oil in 2018.

Its fields are located in Azerbaijan’s Salyan District. Some experts believe that the remaining oil reserves in the contract area exceed 150 million tons.

A contract for the development of Kursangi and Garabagli was signed in 1998 for a period of 25 years.

Shareholders of Salyan Oil are Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR and China National Oil and Gas Exploration and Development Corporation.
