Transnational Finance and Production Petroleum Company Ukrtatnafta has imported 480,000 tons of oil from Azerbaijan over the first nine months of 2018, a source in Ukraine’s oil market told Trend.
“Ukrtatnafta, which owns the Kremenchug Oil Refinery, has been buying Azeri Light since 2017. The company imported about 850,000 tons in 2017 and 480,000 tons over the first nine months of 2018,” said the source.
Ukrtatnafta, an international oil refining company, signed an agreement with Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR in late 2016 on the annual delivery of 1.3 million tons of Azerbaijani oil to the Kremenchug Refinery.
Ukrtatnafta expected that thanks to the supplies of Azerbaijani oil in 2017, the processing of crude would grow by over 41 percent, however, the processing grew by 8 percent to 2.3 million tons for the year primarily due to the decrease in the volume of imports by Ukrnafta, the Ukrainian oil and natural gas extracting company.
