South Korean GS E&C to take part in production of high-octane gasoline in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan plans to launch production of high-octane gasoline at the premises of Navoiyazot JSC, UzDaily.uz reported.

The project with preliminary cost of $200 million has been included in the roadmap for the development of the chemical industry in Uzbekistan.

The project will be implemented with the participation of GS Engineering & Construction Corporation from South Korea.

The plant’s capacity is expected to be 104,300 tons of gasoline made of methanol and 14,400 tons of propane-butane mixture per year.

In December 2018, the GS Engineering & Construction Corporation, Uzkhimprom JSC and Navoiyazot JSC should establish a joint venture for the project. The share of the South Korean company in the joint venture’ authorized capital will be 51 percent. The parties will prepare a feasibility study of the project before the end of 2019.

By May 2020, the parties should determine the sources of financing for the project and begin construction of the plant. The enterprise will be commissioned in December 2020.
