Azerbaijan increases gas transportation via main pipelines

In January-October 2018, 18.7 billion cubic meters of gas were transported through Azerbaijan's main gas pipeline compared to 17.96 billion cubic meters transported for the same period of 2017, the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan said in a message.

In January-October, the South Caucasus gas pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum) accounted for 6.62 billion cubic meters of gas, compared to 5.97 billion cubic meters in the same period of 2017, the Committee's report said.

"In January-October, the South Caucasus gas pipeline accounted for 35.5 percent of all gas transported through the main pipelines of the country," the message said.

The Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline is more than 700 km long. This gas pipeline transports gas produced at the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. The gas is supplied to Georgia and Turkey.
