Halliburton may establish joint venture in Uzbekistan

US-based Halliburton may establish a joint venture in Uzbekistan to provide services in the oil and gas sector, Uzbekneftegaz oil and gas company said referring to the results of meeting with the Halliburton delegation headed by the Vice President for Business Development in the Eurasia region Vugar Mammadov.

The parties noted that they have formed a joint expert working group on the implementation of the memorandum signed earlier and have assigned coordinators of interaction.

The Uzbek oil and gas company offered Halliburton to cooperate in intensifying production of hydrocarbons from long developed fields on the terms of a risk-service contract.

In turn, the members of the Halliburton delegation noted that they would consider the possibility of creating a joint venture to provide services in the oil and gas sector. At the same time, representatives of the company stressed that they would provide full support in creating the National Oil and Gas Database and expressed their readiness to participate in the pilot project Digital Oil Field.

In January-October 2018, Uzbekistan reduced oil production to 624,300 tons, which is 9.2 percent less compared to the same period in 2017.

The production of natural gas in the reporting period amounted to about 49.46 billion cubic meters, which is 6.8 percent more compared to the same period of 2017.
