Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR became a leader among commercial companies for gas import to Ukraine in 2018, SOCAR Energy Ukraine, a subsidiary of the state oil company told Trend.

SOCAR Energy Ukraine said that 1 billion cubic meters of gas was imported and sold in Ukraine by SOCAR in 2018.

“This is almost four times more than in 2017. Thereby, SOCAR became a leader in gas imports to Ukraine among commercial companies. We plan to increase the volume of supplies next year,” said the company.

Moreover, the company said that as of 2018, SOCAR has almost three times increased the imports of liquefied petroleum gas to Ukraine.

“SOCAR fully dedicated 2018 to improving the efficiency of internal processes, improving the quality of customer service, and introducing modern technological innovations. For example, we launched the first payment solution on the basis of QR code technology in the fuel market of Ukraine. Now customers can pay for fuel and purchases using a mobile application by scanning a QR code. There is no need to stand in line or carry a plastic card. It is now possible to pay for fuel without even leaving the car,” the company said.

SOCAR has been operating in Ukraine since 2008. SOCAR has 59 filling stations and two oil loading bunkers in this country.
