Angren and Novo-Angren thermal power plants of Uzbekistan may be transferred to the trust and innovative management of Russian companies, Trend reports with reference to the Uzbek media.
This was noted during the recent meeting of the Chairman of the Uzbekenergo Board Ulugbek Mustafoev with the head of Department of the Russian Energy Ministry Alexey Kiryakov and the representative of the Inter RAO company Sergey Perevedentsev.
During the meeting, issues of cooperation in the modernization of thermal power plants and joint construction of new generating capacities were discussed.
Mustafoev focused on the modernization and reconstruction of 18 power units of the Tashkent, Navoi, Takhiatash and Angren TPPs.
Uzbekenergo currently provides electricity to more than 6.6 million domestic consumers and about 304,000 enterprises and organizations through 1,696 substations, 75,650 transformer points and power transmission networks with a length of 265,100 kilometers.
In the coming years, it is planned to modernize and reconstruct electric networks with a total length of 34,023.1 kilometers and 6,931 transformer points.
