Azerbaijan keeps increasing gas transportation via Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline

In January-March 2019, Azerbaijan exported 2,605.4 million cubic meters of gas via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline, which is 21.4 percent more compared to January-March 2018, Trend reports referring to the country's State Statistics Committee.

Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum accounted for 33.5 percent of the total gas transported by Azerbaijan. The figure rose by 2.8 percent for the year.

In January-March 2019, 7,783.5 million cubic meters of gas were transported through trunk pipelines, which is 14.4 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.

The length of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline is more than 700 kilometers. This gas pipeline transports the gas produced at the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. The gas is supplied to Georgia and Turkey.
