The products produced at the Tabriz Petrochemical Plant, located in Iran's East Azerbaijan Province, were exported to 36 countries last Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), Siavosh Darafshi, CEO of Tabriz Petrochemical Plant, told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to him, half of the products produced at the Tabriz Petrochemical Plant were sold locally, while the other half was exported.

Darafshi noted that, despite facing some problems, about 868,000 tons of petrochemical products were manufactured at the plant last year, which indicates an increase over the previous year.

"Tabriz Petrochemical Plant is one of the few petrochemical companies of Iran that has a stable position in the European market thanks to the large amount of its exports, and is a monopoly producer of polyethylene, polystyrene and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS)," he said.

He added that various projects, such as those aimed at the development of the Tabriz Petrochemical Plant, improving its production and ensuring the provision of fuel, are developing, noting that the plant has the widest range of products produced in its field in Iran after the Arak Petrochemical Plant in Markazi Province.
