New tender coming for Interconnector Greece-Bulgarian in June: executive director (Exclusive)

A new tender for selecting an insurer for the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB) will be announced in June of this year, Teodora Georgieva, executive director of the ICGB project company, said in an interview with Trend.

She noted that the procurement process has already been completed successfully and for all key public procurement procedures have been selected contractors, namely for the:

- Design, procurement and construction

- Line pipe supply

- Owner‘s engineer

- Construction supervision

- Archaeological studies of archaeological sites found along the route of gas interconnector

“We will launch a tender for selection of an insurer of IGB in June,” noted the executive director.

The groundbreaking ceremony for IGB was held May 22 in Bulgaria.

IGB is a gas pipeline, which will allow Bulgaria to receive Azerbaijani gas, in particular, the gas produced from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz 2 gas and condensate field. IGB is expected to be connected to TAP via which gas from the Shah Deniz field will be delivered to the European markets.

The initial capacity of IGB will be 3 billion cubic meters of gas.
