Drilling of an exploration well on the South-West Gobustan land block is somewhat delayed, BP Azerbaijan Vice President Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli told Trend.
He noted that drilling operations required more sophisticated technologies and equipment than expected.
Earlier it was expected that an exploration well would be drilled in the second half of 2019.
The South-West Gobustan land block includes 13 fields and undeveloped structures. The contract for the rehabilitation and development of the South-West Gobustan block was signed in Baku in June 1998. SOCAR is one of the project participants.
