Turkmenistan reveals geological survey results

In accordance with the results of geological survey conducted in a significant part of the territory of Turkmenistan, the confirmed volume of the country’s energy resources reaches 12 billion tons in the corresponding equivalent, Trend reports referring to the "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper.

The newspaper has published information of the Agency for the Protection of the Economy against Risks under the Ministry of Finance of Turkmenistan.

Taking into account the Caspian Sea, approximately 400,000 square kilometers, or 80 percent of the total territory of Turkmenistan, contain productive oil and gas reservoirs, the article said.

It is also reported that the soil and climatic conditions of Turkmenistan make it possible to produce from crude oil about 70 types of fuel, 50 types of alcohol and acetone, 10 names of solvents and naphtha, 45 types of lubricants, 40 types of solid paraffin, 30 types of asphalt and wastes, 18 types of plastics and rubber, more than 20 types of clarified oil and diesel, distillates, 20 types of lubricants suitable for industrial and commercial use.

In particular, there are plans in Turkmenistan to build and commission new complex production facilities, as well as equipment for the purification of diesel fuel from hydrogen impurities at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries.

The introduction of such equipment allows adjusting the process of deep oil refining, expanding the range of petrochemical products, improving the chemical structure and consumer characteristics and launching the production of new types of synthetic oils, said the report.
