Russian oil production giant Lukoil expects to start exploitation drilling on Rakushechnoye field in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea in 2021, Trend reports citing news.ru website.
The construction of the infrastructure will start in October 2019, while the oil production will start in 2023.
Lukoil estimates the investments in the field’s development at about $949 million.
Rakushechnoye deposit was discovered in 2001. The average water depth at the field is 8.2 meters. There are plans to connect the Rakushechnoye field to the infrastructure of the Vladimir Filanovsky field.
The expected production is 1.2 million tons of oil per year.
