Companies from Saudi Arabia are interested in competitive bidding for choosing a private partner for the construction of a solar photovoltaic plant (SPP) with a total capacity of 100 MW in the Navoi region of Uzbekistan under public-private partnership, Trend reports citing Dunyo information agency.
These remarks were made at a meeting of the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia Ulugbek Maksudov with high-rank representatives of the Board of Directors of GSS MEA Ltd and Advanced Inspection Services Co. The sides discussed issues of attracting investments of these companies for the implementation of energy projects in Uzbekistan.
Of particular interest to the companies was information on the construction of a solar photovoltaic station (FES) with a total capacity of 100 MW in the Navoi region on the terms of a public-private partnership.
“This project is aimed at attracting more than $1 billion in investment for the development of solar photovoltaic systems in Uzbekistan. Potential investors were informed about plans to hold similar competitive biddings to choose a private partner for the construction of solar photovoltaic power stations in other regions of the country,” the head of the diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan said.
Representatives of the companies stated that they are ready to take part in the ongoing tender for the construction of solar photovoltaic stations in the regions of the country. As was noted, they intend to visit Uzbekistan to familiarize themselves with the investment climate and capacities of local partners, and to hold a presentation on the activities of the companies.
GSS MEA Ltd. is one of the largest companies in the Middle East with many years of experience in the energy market, which is involved implementing complex projects for the construction of industrial-scale solar photovoltaic plants.
Advanced Inspection Services Co. (AIS) of Saudi Arabia is an industrial inspection company that carries out production control aimed at providing high quality services.
