Petrol products surplus reaches nearly 2M tons in Kazakhstan

The oil processing volume of Kazakhstan’s refineries amounted to 17.500 million tons a year following the modernization, compared to 14.157 million tons a year prior to the modernization, Trend reports with reference to the data of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.

The manufacturing volume of petrol amounted to 5.426 million tons a year compared to 2.951 million tons a year. According to the report, the volume of petrol consumption in Kazakhstan equals 4.278 million tons a year, meaning that the manufacturing surplus of petrol amounted to 1.148 million tons a year following modernization.

The volume of diesel fuel manufacturing in Kazakhstan equaled 5.340 million tons a year following modernization, compared to 3.979 million tons prior to modernization. Thus, with the consumption volume of 5.022 million tons of diesel fuel a year, the surplus of manufacturing amounted to 318,000 tons a year.

Furthermore, the volume of jet fuel manufacturing equaled 900,000 tons a year following modernization, compared to 301,000 tons a year prior to modernization. Thus, with the consumption volume of 661,000 tons of jet fuel a year, the surplus of manufacturing amounted to 239,000 tons a year.

As part of the modernization, the refineries of Kazakhstan launched manufacturing of petrol of K-4 and K-5 ecological classes.

As stated by the ministry, prior to modernization, Kazakhstan’s refineries could not meet the demand of the local market. Due to the increased depth of raw materials processing, refineries manufacture now more light products, such as jet fuel.
