Oil products transshipment volumes through Turkish ports in August 2019 revealed

In August 2019, the volume of transshipment of crude oil in Turkish ports amounted to 19.257 million tons, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey.

During the reporting period, 1.646 million tons of crude oil were delivered to Turkish ports by ships flying the Turkish flag, and 17.661 million tons by ships flying the flag of other countries.

“In August 2019, the volumes of transshipment of untreated sulfur in the ports of Turkey amounted to 177,461 tons,” the report said. “During the reporting period, 10,600 tons of untreated sulfur were delivered to the ports of Turkey by ships flying the Turkish flag, and 166,861 tons by ships flying the flag of other countries.”

According to the ministry, in August 2019, the volume of transshipment of crude fuel oil in Turkish ports amounted to 3.729 million tons.

“During the mentioned period, 179,129 tons of fuel oil were delivered to Turkish ports by ships flying the flag of Turkey, and 3.55 million tons by ships flying the flag of other countries,” the ministry said.

The ministry noted that in August 2019, gas oil transshipment volumes in Turkish ports amounted to 1.022 million tons.

“Over the indicated period, 60,860 tons of gas oil were delivered to Turkish ports by ships flying the Turkish flag, and 962,090 tons by ships flying the flag of other countries,” the ministry said.

In August 2019, the volumes of LNG transshipment in Turkish ports amounted to 5.554 million tons and all shipments were carried out by vessels flying the flag of foreign countries.

“In August 2019, volumes of transshipment of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Turkish ports amounted to 2.090 million tons, 164,960 tons of which accounted for vessels flying the Turkish flag,” the ministry said.

In August 2019, 4,601 ships arrived in Turkish ports, the gross registered tonnage of which amounted to 58.316 million million tons.

During the reported month, 1,978 ships flying the Turkish flag and 2,623 ships flying flags of other countries arrived in Turkish ports.

The gross registered tonnage of ships arrived at Turkish ports under the Turkish flag in August 2019 amounted to 9.63 million tons, and of ships under flags of other countries to 48.685 million tons.

In January-August 2019, Turkish ports received 35,716 ships, the gross registered tonnage of which amounted to 516.701 million tons.

The gross registered tonnage of vessels arrived at Turkish ports under the Turkish flag amounted to 76.956 million tons, while the gross registered tonnage of vessels under flags of other countries amounted to 439.744 million tons in January-August 2019.
