SOCAR, Uzbekneftegaz ink roadmap for exploration at Uzbekistan’s investment blocks

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR and Uzbekistan’s Uzbekneftegaz JSC have signed a roadmap for geological exploration at Uzbekistan’s investment blocks, Trend reports citing Uzbekneftegaz JSC.

On October 13, a delegation consisting of Uzbekistan’s First Deputy Energy Minister Zhurabek Mirzamakhmudov and Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz Bohodirjon Sidikov held talks with SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev, during which the prospects for cooperation in the oil and gas and chemical sectors were discussed.

“The sides discussed the implementation of joint projects, and developed mechanisms to accelerate their implementation. They signed road maps for geological exploration at Uzbekistan’s investment blocks and on increasing production in the fields of Kashkadarya region to ensure speedy transition to the practical implementation of agreements,” reads a message from Uzbekneftegaz JSC.

At the same time, the sides reached a number of agreements to accelerate the work on restoring and overhaul of wells, and on arranging the production of oil and gas equipment and components used in drilling and workover in Uzbekistan.

“Special attention was paid to the development of cooperation in Azerbaijan. In particular, an agreement was reached on joint study of oil production projects in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea,” reads the message.

In addition, the sides discussed the possibility of increasing the export potential of oil and gas and chemical products of Uzbekistan with SOCAR Trading.
