Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR is drilling exploration and production wells at newly installed platforms of Bulla Deniz gas field, Ibrahim Ahmadov, deputy head of the public relations and events department at SOCAR, told Trend.
Moreover, exploratory drilling is ongoing outside the working platforms of the field, noted Ahmadov.
“New platforms will be built after completing this exploratory drilling so that to fully restore the field’s working infrastructure,” SOCAR’s representative added.
He noted that currently, 11 wells are operating at the field, producing around 377 tons of condensate and 1.6 million cubic meters of natural gas per day.
SOCAR has been active in the Bulla Deniz field since 1975. Bulla-deniz field is located 10 km south-east from Sangachal sea-Duvanni sea-Khara-Zira Island. The structure was discovered in 1957 and exploration works started in 1965.
