Turkmen state corporation discovers new hydrocarbon reserves

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, Nov. 27

By Huseyn Hasanov – Trend:

Turkmenistan's Turkmengeology State Corporation is currently carrying out its work in the southeastern and western promising oil and gas regions and in the territories of the already known fields of the country, Trend reports referring to the corporation.

For example, recently, gas inflow was received from exploratory wells numbered 1 and 2, at the newly opened Tajibay site in the Lebap region.

In addition, in the well N. 1 of the Northern Nazar – Okarem Field in the Balkan region, an industrial gas inflow was received and work began on calculating the reserves available here.

Exploratory work is also being conducted to identify minerals that serve as raw materials for enterprises in the chemical, metallurgical and construction industries.

So, in the Balkan region of the country, exploratory work is carried out in the Janahir settlement - on chalk and clay deposits that can be used in the production of cement.

In order to increase the efficiency of seismic survey, Turkmengeology plans to acquire a new 3D field seismic complex and software for processing and integrating information obtained as the result of work done.

This complex will allow to introduce 4D monitoring technology in the long term in order to optimize oil and gas production in the developing oil and gas fields.

Currently, about 30 gas and gas condensate fields, including Dovletabat and Shatlyk as well as biggest fields Malay, Kerpichli, Gazlydepe, Bagaja, Yelguyi and others, are being developed in Turkmenistan.

New deposits including Agarguyi and Northern Gazlidepe in Lebap region, South Gutlyyak and Geyazli in Ahal region, and Garakel in Mary region were also discovered.

Moreover, industrial reserves increased at Northern Nayip, Bagajha, Chertak, and Garajaovlak fields.

The search and exploration work is underway at the biggest Galkynysh gas field in Turkmenistan. The reserves of the Galkynysh gas field, together with the reserves of the Yashlar and Garakel fields, are estimated at 27.4 trillion cubic meters of gas. Turkmenistan is the biggest gas supplier in Central Asia.
