By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:
The capacity of gas condensate reservoirs of Iran’s South Pars Gas Complex has been increased to 2.5 million barrels, Trend reports referring to Iran's Pars Oil and Gas Company.
The volume of the recently commissioned gas condensate reservoir is 500,000 barrels and the gas processed at the plants of the South Pars Gas Complex is transferred to the reservoirs.
Four reservoirs were commissioned last Iranian year (March 21, 2018 - March 21, 2019).
Work is underway to increase the storage capacity of gas condensate reservoirs of Iran’s South Pars Gas Complex to 4 million barrels and these gas condensate reservoirs will be put into operation in early February next year.
The South Pars Gas Field is a joint gas field between Iran and Qatar. The proven reserves have reached 51 trillion cubic meters of gas and it is possible to extract 36 trillion cubic meters of gas.
Presently, 630 million cubic meters of gas may be extracted from Iran's South Pars gas field daily.
After new platforms are commissioned at five phases (13, 14, 22, 23 and 24), gas production volume will increase up to 680 million cubic meters a day.
