BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 25
By Anastasia Savchenko - Trend:
The number of SOCAR gas stations in Azerbaijan reached 30 in 2019, Ibrahim Ahmadov, deputy head of public relations and events department at the Azerbaijani State Oil Company SOCAR, told Trend.
Ahmadov was commenting on building new gas stations under the SOCAR brand.
According to him, another gas station will soon appear in Georgia, and the total number of gas stations operating under the SOCAR brand in Georgia will reach 115.
"In Romania, the number of SOCAR gas stations this year amounted to 43, with two new stations were added, while in Ukraine this figure reached 62, with one new gas station was added," Ahmadov said.
He added that currently, there are a total of 266 gas stations in Austria and Switzerland (six new gas stations have been added in 2019) operating under the SOCAR brand.
"Most of them are our property, but some of them are franchised, not being the direct property of SOCAR," Ahmadov added.
In conclusion, Ahmadov noted that SOCAR also operates compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations in Azerbaijan.
Given that CNG is the most environmentally friendly, as well as affordable and safe fuel on the market, SOCAR is stepping up its activities in CNG sales.
New stations are located in the Khazar and Khatai districts of Baku, on the 70th kilometer of the Baku-Salyan Highway, and on the 28th kilometer of the Baku-Guba Highway.
