Minister: Over 80 power and water projects implemented in Iran

Some 86 power and water projects were implemented in Iran in the second half of this Iranian year (began on March 21, 2019), Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian said.

Ardakanian made the remark at the ceremony of putting into operation the infrastructure for electric power transmission in Mashhad city of Iran’s north-western Razavi Khorasan province, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Energy Ministry's website.

“Some 70 trillion rials (about $1.6 billion) were spent for these projects,” the minister added.

“A decision was made to implement 227 power and water projects worth 330 trillion rials ($7.8 billion) in 31 provinces in the second half of the year,” Ardakanian said.

The minister said that the implementation of 29 projects was launched through the investments worth 35 trillion rials (about $833 million) and these projects will be implemented in the coming years.

"Some 13 projects were implemented in various counties of Razavi Khorasan province through the investments worth 5.7 trillion rials (about $136 million)," Ardakanian said.

“Some 46 water, power and sewer projects in the province worth over 200 trillion rials (approximately $ 4.7 billion) have been implemented by 51 percent and they are expected to be fully implemented by the end of the term of the current government’s activity (August 2021),” the minister said.
