Some 88 oil and gas wells have been drilled and upgraded in Iran’s onshore and offshore fields from March 21 through December 21 of this Iranian year (began on March 21, 2019), Executive Director for Drilling Operations in the National Iranian Drilling Company Mohammad Al Khamis said.
“One exploration well, seven appraisal wells were drilled and upgraded, 26 wells were drilled to upgrade the existing wells and 54 wells were drilled to repair other wells during the reporting period,” Al Khamis added, Trend reports referring to the company’s website.
"The total depth of the wells was 119,438 meters. Some 64 of the drilled wells are located on the territory of the Iran Southern Oil Fields Company and 12 – on the territory of the Iranian offshore oil company," Al Khamis said.
“The remaining two wells were drilled in the territory of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company, three wells - in the territory of the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company, and seven wells - in the territory of the National Iranian Oil Company,” the executive director added. “Nine wells were drilled 89 days ahead of schedule.”
"Five wells were launched in Naft Shahr county on the territory of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company, while seven wells in the oil field on the territory of Iran’s Southern Oil Fields Company. The work was conducted within the projects of the National Iranian Oil Company to preserve and increase production this year,” Al Khamis added.
