Turkmenistan's oil refinery increases production

An oil refinery located in Turkmenistan’s eastern Seydi city processed about 600,000 tons of oil in 2019, Trend reports referring to Business Turkmenistan agency.

The production growth rate amounted to 116.8 percent. In the reporting period, the refinery produced 222,000 tons of gasoline and 33,500 tons of road bitumen.

The catalytic reforming facility was commissioned at the refinery in 2017. The project was implemented by the US Westport Trading Europe Limited company. In 2015, the company commissioned a new facility with annual capacity of 37,200 tons of road bitumen at this refinery.

Turkmenistan annually produces about 10 million tons of oil. The production is ensured by the Turkmen Oil State Concern and companies from the UK, Malaysia and the UAE operating on the basis of production sharing agreements (PSA).
