Uzbekistan releases data on reconstructed power lines in 2019

Enterprises of Uzbekistan’s Regional Electric Networks JSC carried out work on the reconstruction and modernization of 6,400 kilometers of power lines and 2,600 transformer points throughout the country in 2019, Trend reports citing the press service of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy.

As a result of the work done, the power supply to 920,000 homes in 545 villages improved.

The structure of Regional Electric Networks JSC includes 16 enterprises, including 14 enterprises of regional electric grids operating electric networks of 0.4-6-10-35-110 kV, as well as new construction, reconstruction, overhauls and maintenance of electric grid facilities farms.

As part of the implementation of the state program “Prosperous village”, over 2,400 kilometers of power lines and 800 transformer points were reconstructed. In addition, 2,900 kilometers of power lines and 1,600 transformer points were overhauled.

Moreover, as part of the implementation of the state program “Prosperous district”, work was carried out on the reconstruction of 234 km of power lines and 94 transformer points, 188 km long capital lines and 272 transformer points were repaired.

Along with this, overhaul and current repairs of electric networks with a length of 20,300 km and 6,800 transformer points were carried out. For the construction of external power supply facilities for affordable multi-apartment buildings under construction in rural areas and cities of Uzbekistan, 368 km of power lines and 344 transformer points were built.

Measures have been taken to connect 720 enterprises operating in 126 free economic and small industrial zones to the power grid, in particular 160 km of power lines and 98 transformer points have been built.

In order to improve metering and control of electricity consumption over the past period, more than 2.5 million consumers were connected to an automated system for monitoring and accounting of electricity.

In addition, in order to increase existing capacities, as well as uninterrupted supply of electricity to consumers in 9 regions of the country, reconstruction and modernization of 16 high-voltage substations was carried out, as well as construction and installation work was carried out on 115.3 km of transmission lines with a voltage of 0.4-10 -35-110 kV.

Last year, 4 factories for the production of reinforced concrete supports were put into operation on the basis of power supply enterprises. In 2020, it is planned to commission 8 more plants for the production of liquid household waste, which will speed up the construction of new power lines.

In order to strengthen the material and technical base and increase the level of mechanization of regional electric networks, 100 units of special equipment were delivered. In 2020, it is planned to purchase 34 auto labs and 14 truck cranes.
