Representatives of ENEL, an Italian multinational energy company, will visit Georgia to study investment opportunities of the country's energy sector, Trend reports referring to the press service of the government of Georgia.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia met with CEO of ENEL Francesco Starace on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum which is taking place in Davos, Switzerland.
Gakharia spoke about the investment environment of Georgia and the opportunities for investors in the country's energy sector. He also noted the potential of Georgia in hydro, wind and solar power generation.
"We have received clear and detailed information about the investment potential of Georgia. We have discussed the need for intensive continuation of processes to support the integration of energy systems and development of energy transit between Georgia and its strategic partners,” said Starace.
The CEO added that representatives of ENEL will visit Georgia to further study the investment opportunities of the country's energy sector.
ENEL operates in the sectors of electricity generation and distribution, as well as distribution of natural gas.
