Azerbaijan's State Oil Company SOCAR exported over 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas via the Gazimammad-Gazakh gas pipeline to Georgia in 2019, which is 11.3 percent more compared to the export figure of 2018, Trend reports with reference to the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry.
The ministry's report says that the amount of the gas exports to Georgia via the pipeline slightly exceeded 1.1 billion cubic meters in 2018.
According to the report, SOCAR exported nearly 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas from the Shahdeniz field via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline to Georgia in 2019, which is 6.6 percent more compared to the figure of 2018, which was just over 1.1 billion cubic meters.
SOCAR exported a total of 2.4 billion cubic meters of gas to Georgia in 2019, which is 198 million cubic meters of gas or 8.22 percent more compared to 2018.
The length of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline is more than 700 kilometers. This gas pipeline transports the gas produced at the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. The gas is supplied to Georgia and Turkey.
