Caspian Pipeline Consortium slightly decreases oil handling at its Marine Terminal

Caspian Pipeline Consortium’s (CPC) Marine Terminal (MT) lifted 5.6 million gross tons (44.4 million barrels) of crude oil, which is also 4 percent less than in Dec. 2019, Trend reports with reference to CPC.

Some 53 tankers were handled at the terminal and January lifting schedule was completed in full.

Out of the 5.6 million tons lifted, some 2.5 million tons of crude were from Tengiz field, 904,978 tons from Karachaganak field, 1.4 million tons from Kashagan field and 110,381 tons from other Kazakh producers.

Kazakh producers shipped a total of 4.9 million tons of crude during the reporting month, and 672,453 tons of lifted crude was received from Russia.

Some 63.2 million tons of crude oil were shipped at the CPC Marine Terminal in 2019, which exceeded the results of 2018 by 2.1 million tons and set a new record for the annual shipment of the CPC oil port.

CPC Pipeline System is one of the major investment projects in energy sector with participation of foreign capital in the CIS.

CPC Shareholders: Russia – 31 percent; Kazakhstan – 20.75 percent; Chevron Caspian Pipeline Consortium Company – 15 percent, LUKARCO B.V. - 12.5 percent, Mobil Caspian Pipeline Company – 7.5 percent, Rosneft-Shell Caspian Ventures Limited – 7.5 percent, BG Overseas Holding Limited – 2 percent, Eni International N.A. N.V. - 2percent and Oryx Caspian Pipeline LLC – 1.75 percent.
