Iran's Central Oil fields Company talks gas consumption

Gas supply for consumption from Shourijeh D (Razavi Khorasan province of Iran) and Serajeh (Qom province of Iran) gas storage facilities of Iran's Central Oil fields Company increased by 33 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020) compared to the preceding year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019), Ahmad Rajabi Technical affairs director of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company, Trend reports citing the official website of the company.

According to Rajabi, a total of 869 million cubic meters of gas was pumped into the Serajeh gas storage facility and 1.44 million cubic meters into the Shourijeh D storage facility in the summer of last Iranian year.

Rajabi added that six provinces in northern and northeastern Iran are far from the southern gas production centers.So, gas supply to these provinces is provided by Shourijeh D and Serajeh gas storage facilities. This shows that Iran does not need to import gas from Turkmenistan.

"Last year, with the beginning of winter, 902 million cubic meters of gas was taken from the Serajeh gas storage facility and put into operation. This is an increase of 17 percent compared to the preceding year," he said.

The official said that 1.72 billion cubic meters of gas was extracted from the Shourijeh D storage facility last Iranian year. This is an increase of 43 percent compared to the preceding year.

According to reports of company, the Shourijeh D storage facility in northeastern Iran can be developed to the maximum.

At present, the annual gas storage potential of this reservoir is about 2.4 billion cubic meters. According to the development program of the Iranian Oil Ministry, its capacity can be increased to 4.8 billion cubic meters.

The Shourijeh D and Serajeh gas storage facilities supply gas to Iran's Razavi Khorasan, North Khorasan, South Khorasan, Mazandaran, Golestan and Semnan provinces.

The Iran's Central Oil fields Company 12 gas fields and 13 oil fields and 2 oil and 2 gas fields are being developed at present.
