National Power Grid of Uzbekistan upgrades Tashkent Metallurgical Plant

Uzbekistan's National Power Grid company, supervised by the Ministry of Energy, has completed the construction of external power supply facilities at the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant, Trend reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Energy.

Technical work currently continues. A 220 kV high voltage line with a length of 46 km, as well as a modern high-voltage substation (Sergeli) were built, the report said.

Construction of external power supply facilities of Tashkent Metallurgical Plant LLC project was implemented in accordance with the decree of the President of Uzbekistan from 29.03.2018 and the Cabinet of Ministers from 28.06.2019.

The main goal of the project is to provide the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant with uninterrupted power supply, as well as to ensure reliable power supply to domestic consumers in Tashkent region and Tashkent city, the message said.

"In the course of the project implementation, a new network was built between the Kuylyuk and Adolat substations. The Sergeli substation was provided with new modern equipment. Also, 110 kV distribution equipment supports were installed, a building with an operational control panel and other auxiliary facilities were put into operation," the message said.

The total cost of the project is $29 million, including $26.5 million at the expense of loans of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan and $2.5 million financed by the National Power Grid of Uzbekistan JSC.
