Review of Shah Deniz gas exports via Sangachal terminal

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19

By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:

Daily gas exports from Azerbaijan’s giant Shah Deniz gas and condensate field by Sangchal terminal have increased from an average 18.7 million standard cubic metres in 2010 to 45 million standard cubic metres in 2019, Trend reports.

Sangchal terminal exported on average about 18.7 million standard cubic metres (about 659 million standard cubic feet) of Shah Deniz gas daily during 2010.

The exports dropped to about 18.2 million standard cubic meters (about 644 million standard cubic feet) daily in 2011, rising significantly to stand at 26.6 million standard cubic metres (about 939 million standard cubic feet) daily in 2013.

No data is available for 2012 and 2014.

On average, 26.9 million standard cubic metres (949.5 million standard cubic feet) of Shah Deniz gas was exported from the Terminal daily during the year of 2015, then rising to 28.9 million standard cubic metres (about 1.021 billion standard cubic feet) in 2016.

Shah Deniz gas exports through the terminal nosedived to about 27.5 million standard cubic metres (about 972 million standard cubic feet) in 2017, then recovering to about 28.4 million standard cubic metres (more than 1003 million standard cubic feet) in 2018.

On average, more than 45 million standard cubic metres (about 1,600 million standard cubic feet) of Shah Deniz gas was exported from the terminal daily in 2019.

Gas is exported via the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP), the South Caucasus Pipeline expansion system and via SOCAR gas pipelines connecting the terminal’s gas processing facilities with Azerigas’s national grid system.
