By Elnur Baghishov –Trend:

Iran’s South Pars Gas Company’s (SPGC) gas condensate production volume increased by more than 9 percent during the two months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through May 20, 2020), compared to the same period last Iranian year, the CEO of South Pars Gas Company Hadi Hashemzadeh Farhang said, Trend reports citing the company’s official website.

Furthermore, the volume of fuel received by the company's plants for two months also increased by about 9 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year, the CEO emphasized.

Hashemzadeh Farhang added that the volume of sweet gas supplied by the South Pars Gas Company to the Iranian gas network has increased by more than 10 percent.

The daily gas processing in Iran has increased by 24 million cubic meters in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020) compared to the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), from 650 million cubic meters of gas to 674 million cubic meters per day.

The South Pars gas field is a joint gas field of Iran and Qatar. The proven reserves of the South Pars Gas Field are estimated at 51 trillion cubic meters of gas, of which 36 trillion are extractable. At present, Iran's daily gas production from the South Pars gas field is more than 700 million cubic meters. Iran has so far spent $33 billion on the projects related to the South Pars gas field. Iran has 24 phases in this field.

Gas from Iran's South Pars gas field is transported to refineries in the Pars Special Energy Economic Zone (port city of Asaluyeh in Iran's southern Bushehr Province) via a gas pipeline. Around 75 percent of Iran's gas is supplied by this field.
