A 10-megawatt small scale power plant has been commissioned in the Taft county of Yazd Province (central Iran), said Hossein Zeraee Deputy Director of Yazd Regional Electric Company, Trend reports citing Ministry of Energy of Iran.
The deputy director said that this power plant has 5 units of 2 megawatts each. The power plant is connected to the Taft county power substation with 20 kilowatt power lines.
Zeraee added that with the commissioning of all the units of the power plant, it should produce 77,000 megawatts of electricity per year.
"The private sector has invested 3 million euros and 200 billion rials (about $4.76 million) in the construction of this power plant," he said.
Zeraee stressed that with the commissioning of the power plant, the power generation capacity of small-scale power plants in Yazd Province has increased to 167 megawatts.
