Electricity generation in Azerbaijan made up almost 2.1 billion kilowatt-hours in June 2020, Trend reports citing the report of the Ministry of Energy.
In the reporting month, Azerbaijan’s electricity export amounted to 98.8 million kilowatt-hours, and import - to 9.3 million kilowatt-hours.
Meanwhile, compared to June 2019, the volume of electricity generation in the country rose by 14.1 million kilowatt-hours, export - by 61.5 million kilowatt-hours, and import slipped by 9.9 million kilowatt-hours.
From January through June 2020, electricity generation increased by 65.2 million kilowatt-hours compared to the same period of 2019 year and exceeded 12.9 billion kilowatt-hours.
Power plants in Azerbaijan generated 24.2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in 2019, which is 4.3 percent more compared to 2018.
As many as 23.4 billion kilowatt-hours of the total electricity generated in 2019 accounted for commercial consumption, which is 4.6 percent more compared to 2018.
