Russian engineering company expands presence in Uzbekistan

Russia's Power Machines has opened a representative office in Tashkent and set up a network of design offices at the sites of hydroelectric power plants which are under construction, Trend reports citing the statement from the Power Machines.

At present, Power Machines continue execution of contracts on modernization of three power plants of Uzbekistan - Syrdarya TPP, Farkhad and Tupalang HPP. In the near future, the company plans to start construction of the mini hydropower plant at the Sardoba reservoir.

Russian enterprises such as Electrosila Plant, the Leningrad Metallurgical Plant, and the Kaluga Turbine Plant, will be involved in the production and supply of equipment.

The representative office of the Russian company in Tashkent will employ 12 people, the staff of four project offices at the sites of hydroelectric power plants under construction will comprise 20 specialists.

About 80 percent of the installed capacity of the power equipment of TPPs and HPPs of Uzbekistan has been manufactured by Power Machines enterprises. Among them - 11 thermal power plants and 31 hydroelectric power stations.

Power Machines is the only company in Russia that has competencies in almost the entire range of power equipment, including design, production, assembly, installation and maintenance. The key competence and competitive advantage of the company is implementation of complex turnkey projects in the power industry.

The equipment manufactured and supplied by the company's enterprises operates in 57 countries worldwide.

Today, the main activities of the company are the production of power equipment for thermal, nuclear, hydroelectric power, power grid complex, industry and transport.

In the more than 90-year history of cooperation, Power Machines' plants have supplied to Uzbekistan power and electrical equipment with a total capacity of about 7 GW.
