Turkmenistan's big growth potential in chemical industry explained

The potential of Turkmenistan's chemical and polymer industry is growing, a Turkmenistan columnist for 'Voice of CIS' web portal Valentin Trapeznikov, Trend reports with reference to Voice of the CIS online radio.

The development of the above-mentioned sectors is based on public and private investments, as well as the growing large production capacities of the public sector and the country's business community, Trapeznikov said.

In particular, Trapeznikov highlighted Turkmenistan's chemical industry, in which significant investments are being made.

"The chemical industry has firmly taken second place after the fuel and energy sector in terms of investment in recent years," said Trapeznikov.

The country commissioned new businesses in chemical sector, namely: the Marykarbamid and Garabogazkarbamid plants, Garlyk mining field manufacturing potash fertilizers and plant for the production of sulfuric acid on Turkmenabat Chemical Plant.

With the commissioning of new enterprises, the country's output has increased.

Turkmenhimiya State Concern exceeded the production plan by 22.1 percent in 1H2020.

The plan for oil and gas condensate production in the country in 1H2020 was exceeded by 7.6 percent, oil refining - by 2.6 percent, gasoline production – by 5.1 percent, diesel fuel – by 5.1 percent. The growth rate of liquefied gas production was exceeded by 12.2 percent.
