Germany reduces crude oil imports from Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug.27

Germany imported 892,548 tons of crude oil from Azerbaijan from January through May 2020, as compared to 1,576,657 tons for the same period of 2019, Eurostat told Trend.

The country imported 185,750 tons of crude oil from Azerbaijan in January 2020, 269,197 tons in February, 128,063 tons in March, 102,729 tons in April and 206,809 tons in May.

This is while in 2019, Germany imported 519,882 tons in January, 388,656 tons in February, 250,267 tons in March, 287,691 tons in April, 130,161 tons in May, 292,186 tons in June, 164,325 tons in July, 79,801 tons in August, 205,982 tons in September, 214,973 tons in October, 240,078 tons in November and 148,335 in December.

Azerbaijan exported 2,023,202 tons of crude oil to EU countries in January 2020 and 2,112,208 tons in February 2020.

Azerbaijan exported 19.5 million tons of oil from January through July 2020, which is 0.02 percent more compared to the same period of 2019, according to the statistical report of the State Customs Committee (SCC).

According to the report, the total volume of exports of petroleum products in the reporting period amounted to $6.3 billion, showing an annual decrease of 48.6 percent.

During seven months of 2020, the volume of exports of petroleum products amounted to almost 705,797 tons, which is 15.4 percent more compared to the same period of last year.
