The Fluxa filtration equipment control system for the filtration of ethylene glycol at the Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company in the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone in the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) has been designed and manufactured for the first time in Iran, Trend reports citing the company’s official portal.

According to the report, the contamination of ethylene glycol production equipment at the company's polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plant causes various restrictions.

“Therefore, Fluxa filters are used for the filtration of ethylene glycol. Additional funds were requested for the sale of the control system of this equipment to the company,” the report said.

A total of 34,000 euro saved with the manufacturing of the control system.

The company launched its activity in 1998 and it operates in Petrochemical Special Economic Zone in Khuzestan Province on the area covering 34 hectares. The Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company produces PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid) and PET (polyethylene terephthalate) products.

The company produces more than 1.6 million tons of products a year, and the value of the company's annual production is estimated at more than $800 million. The company operates under the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industry Company of Iran.
