Iran set a record by exporting 80 million cubic meters of gas per day in the summer of current Iranian year, Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh said in a speech to parliament, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Parliament’s official website.

Zanganeh emphasized that as for Iran's gas exports to neighboring countries, there are solidarity with a number of countries, and certain difficulties with some countries.

Zanganeh added that these difficulties can be overcome by countries with the help of each other.

The minister noted that there are some technical issues in Iran's gas exports to Oman. Thus, the pipeline must pass through the seabed. The depth in the direction of the pipeline is more than 1,000 meters.

"Currently, Iran cannot lay this pipeline," he said.

Iran produced 267 billion cubic meters of gas in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020).

About 112 billion cubic meters of it was consumed in housing, trade and catering facilities and the industrial sector. The gas supplied to the industrial sector increased by 7 percent to 42.5 billion cubic meters. Also, 60.6 billion cubic meters of gas was delivered to thermal power plants in the last Iranian year. In addition, Iran exported 17.5 billion cubic meters of gas.

At present, Iran's refineries process about 703 million cubic meters of natural gas per day.
