Iran's Tehran Oil Refining Company to expand gasoline production

A plan has been prepared to increase the quality and quantity of gasoline production of Iran’s Tehran Oil Refining Company, and a local contractor will be selected in this regard, said Ahmad Kheiri, Head of Operations Department of Tehran Oil Refining Company, Trend reports citing the company.

The official stressed that thus, the quality of gasoline produced by the company will be under the Euro 5 standard.

Kheiri added that certain licenses have been obtained by the relevant Iranian authorities in connection with the implementation of the plan.

Kheiri noted that the plans to improve the quality of the company were implemented 8 years ago (from March 20, 2012, to March 21, 2013). As result, on average of daily about 7 million liters of gasoline, 5 million liters of white oil under the Euro 4 standard, and 13 million liters of diesel under the Euro 4 standard have been produced.

“It was planned to sign a contract with a Japanese company three years ago (from March 21, 2017, to March 21, 2018) to improve the company's refining capacity, but due to new US sanctions against Iran, the Japanese company refused to continue cooperation,” he said.

According to the official, the Tehran Oil Refining Company increased production of vacuum bottom, solvent 402, and liquid nitrogen products in the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020) according to customer needs.
