Azerbaijan produced 25.1 billion cubic meters of gas during the first eight months of 2020, of which 7.9 billion fell on the Azeri-Chirag-Deepwater Gunashli (ACG) field, and 12.3 billion cubic meters - Shah Deniz field, Trend reports referring to the report of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy.
The ministry noted that the country’s gas production in the reporting period was 8.7 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.
According to the report, the State Oil Company Of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produced 4.9 billion cubic meters of gas during the mentioned period.
From January through August 2020, the country’s gas exports abroad amounted to 8.7 billion cubic meters, which is 17.6 percent more compared to the same period of 2019.
“Over the indicated eight months, Azerbaijan exported the gas to Turkey by 25.3 percent more compared to the same period of last year, that is, 7.2 billion cubic meters. The volume of gas exports to Georgia amounted to 1.5 billion cubic meters. Some 2.8 billion cubic meters of gas were sent to Turkey through Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP). Since the commissioning of TANAP, gas exports to Turkey have amounted to about 6.7 billion cubic meters,” the report said.
“As of September 1, 2020, 172.8 billion cubic meters of gas were produced from the ACG field. Since the commissioning of Shah Deniz till September 1, 129.1 billion cubic meters of gas was produced,” said the report.
The ministry’s report added that 544.9 million tons of oil (together with condensate) and 85.7 billion cubic meters of gas have been exported from these fields so far.
